About Me

Painting brings me joy, sometimes frustration, like solving a puzzle, it falls apart before it comes together. I never have a plan, my imagery grows out of my imagination and intuition as they guide me through the process of applying paint to canvas, marks to paper and layers of color.

I often get lost in the process of art making, as if I’m being pulled along into a zone where a dialogue unfolds, between myself and the painting. I’m challenged by this dialogue and excited by eventually finding clarity through play and experimentation. I like to take risks, occasionally scribbling across the emerging piece to keep it fresh and alive, then reengage to completion.

I experience painting as a daily practice and a gift. I am grateful for this practice, it keeps me sane, whole and focused.
